Delfino Schixsal (Stefano H.Battelli b. 1985, Florence, Italy) is a fine artist of Italian and West-Berlin heritage. In 2004, he relocated to London, where he studied at the University of the Arts London (Central Saint Martins / London College of Communication), earning an MA in Film and Moving Image in 2010.
From the mid 2000s to the early 2010s, he was deeply embedded in the European underground art and music scene, showing video installations and large-scale photo collages in London, Buenos Aires, Berlin, and Amsterdam, exclusively within rave contexts.
Since 2013, he has worked independently while continuously traveling, undertaking long term artist retreats across SouthEastAsia, Australia, South America and North Africa.
Based at his private rural art estate in central Thailand, he creates fine art paintings and large-scale photocollages, while occasionally attending cultural fairs in Europe and the United States.
His work renders invisible forces perceptible, giving form to the inexpressible.
Drawing on pure metaphysics, altered states, and magical realism, he constructs a visual language in which the sacred and the absurd converge, like fragments of a self-contained belief system.
Part ritual, part hallucination, part coded language, his works unfold in a space of ambiguity where meaning remains fluid and perception itself is called into question.
His hypnotic imagery moves between elegance and rawness, symbolism and wilderness, creating mythologized realities where the boundaries between magical fiction and hidden revelation dissolve.
Delfino Schixsal is an emerging artist whose singular vision marks him as a distinctive and compelling new voice.
